Everything started for Rax in '08 when he just discovered the 140 music by listening to podcasts, mixes and going out to bass-music nights in Bucharest. It was still a blurry picture of the bass music scene, until he went to Outlook Festival. The atmosphere, the artists and sound systems got him thinking in a more realistic and serious way about the dubstep scene and bass music in general.
Hip-hop and funk producer, Ras G has been a strong influence for many artists and music lovers. His recent death, at the age of 39, left a huge gap in the world of music. With 24 albums and mixtapes released since his debut in 2008, he collaborated with artists such as Thundercat and Open Mike Eagle.

For Social Sundays 013 we have invited Marius Costache, head honcho of 148Label. He took us on a journey of experimental, noise and atmospheric sounds, introducing the listener into the vision of his label.
We started 2019 in full force with a heavy selection of dub music from our friends at Serious Dub. Born in 2011 as a group of dub/reggae promoters, Serious Dub co-organised Subsonic Festival 2012, the largest bass music and sound system festival in Romania. From the commitment and passion for dub music and it’s vast and complex universe, Serious Dub productions have emerged.
Our next guest for Social Sundays sessions is ZO. Music promoter and DJ based in Cluj Napoca, ZO started making a name for himself by promoting bass music in Cluj. For seven years now, he pushes the scene forward booking names such as D Double E, Loefah, Flava D, Kromestar, Commodo, just to name a few.
The tenth session of Social Sundays welcomed Kaze Sound System. Operator, sound system builder and reggae collector, Kaze crafted a two hour and a half roots and reggae mix.
Our latest guest for Social Sundays session was Nerub. Beatmaker, DJ and MC, Nerub is active on the music scene since 2006. His style mixes hip-hop beats with a trip-hop feeling. So far he released two albums, one EP and a series of singles.
The eighth stream of Social Sundays brings the reggae selector Ursu Dub. Just returned from a long trip to the Caribbeans he carefully crafted a nice selection of reggae and dub music.

The jazz musician Iordache was our guest for the sixth edition of Social Sundays. He played a two hour set of jazz, selecting music from his own releases.
The forth episode of Black Rhino Mix Sessions is coming from the Romanian producer and Dj, Brusten. With an extensive knowledge of electronic music, Brusten prepared a mix that combines electronica, techno and drum and bass.
For our fifth edition of Social Sundays we have invited Plus [+], visual artist and Dj based in Cluj Napoca. With a wide selection of music in his bag, Plus joined the Social Sundays Sessions with a of drum and bass.
Our next guest mix comes from the dj and radio show host Monsoon. A mix made entirely of dubplates that will shake any wall.
This month, Kaya Foundation is celebrating ten years of activity so, we invited them for an extended session at our bimonthly Social Sundays. Enjoy this fine selection of roots reggae music and if you are in town on the 20th of April be sure to come at their session.
DYL is a Romanian based experimental producer. He has very quickly carved out his own unique sound which can be heard in mixes and sets of some of the most forefront players in the scene.
We have invited Nipple's Delight for our third of Social Sundays show. Their background is as diverse as their current musical endeavours. Both have been around for quite a while and both grew up on the ever emerging Bucharest underground scene in the early-2000s.
Playlist selection and style of mixing made Agmantav one of the most respected dubstep Djs in Romania. Both as a dj and producer, he is influenced by the heavy sound of the deep and dark areas of grime and dub.
We have invited Tzuc for our second Social Sundays show. Both his music and his dj sets blend with high fines into the world wide music. From funk to house, Tzuc is a rhythm explorer.
Selecta L45 is playing strictly vinyl roots reggae and he promotes the same vintage reggae in Roots on Vinyl sessions in Bucharest. You can always find him defending that original silky bass from the 70's.
