The Fusion Frequencies

Hailing from the birth place of techno, Josh fell in love with Dubstep in the early days after hearing the likes of, Distance, Caspa, Rusko, Benga, Coki, Excision, Bar 9 and more. He knew from the beginning that this was the sound he was after in his musical journey.

Going into 2010 saw Josh gaining local attention by playing some of the markee venues in the Detroit area under his first alias . By 2013 Josh and his Canadian pal, Phil (Snapback) were producing beats by themselves, combining forces to form Distinct Motive. From the beginning Distinct Motive was gaining heavy momentum in the dubstep scene world wide with support from dubstep staples like, Mala, Kahn, Truth, and J Sparrow just to name a few. In 2017 Josh had to take a step back from Distinct Motive. (Love you Phil!)

It was after his departure from Distinct Motive that the Intent alias was born. Since then he has spent his time as a member of Detroit’s Liquid Dancehall. Josh was familiar with Liquid Dancehall founder Andrew (Deka) from the early days of Dubstep in Detroit. Andrew and former partner Jon Davis (Calico RIP) were responsible for the DATSWOTSUP! Parties which brought true-to-the-sound dubstep to the city between 2009-2016. After a brief hiatus since the end of Datswotsup!, Andrew came back with vengeance partnering up with local engineer, DJ, producer, and cameraman Elliot (OCA2). It was then that the Liquid Dancehall Sound System was born. Since its inception it's been Liquid Dancehall's goal to bring proper sound and performances to the Detroit area, continuing to embrace the dubstep culture that was created 20+ years ago in the UK.
