Copenhagen-based artist Steven Jess Borth II aka CHLLNGR began to play saxophone when he was 10 years old and few years after he already joined first rock/ska bands including Link 80 and Rx Bandits with whom he toured throughout the world. From 2003 he started writing his own music and in 2009 CHLLNGR was born, a project focusing more on an electronic sound with dub roots as foundation. With emerging instrumental Danish ensemble Guiding Star Orchestra he's been going international even more as the band has made noise in reggae world with two LPs: "Natural Heights" (2022) and "Communion" (2023). Steven is our guest in the episode, as we highlight his work not only by GSO, but other projects as well including I Am An Instrument (IAAI) and CHLLNGR itself.
