Formerly known as a post-rock trio, Valerinne really evolved on their 2019 album, due to the heavy use of synths, from both Alexandru Das and Liviu Stoicescu. The only unprocessed things in "Desire", recorded live in February 2019 at Studio 148, by Marius Costache, are the drums.
Digging for Valerinne is a concept concert that brings together two of the artists that joined Black Rhino Residence program in 2017. For this first episode we have invited Dream Diggers and Valerinne, two bands that share a similar passion for sound and atmosphere.
Alexandru Das is an artist. From music to graphic design his work has an atmosphere that induces emotion above anything else. It is nice when you find people that are both musicians and graphic artists, because in this way, as a listener or viewer, you can better understand his or her philosophy.
First session of Black Rhino Artist in Residence programme brings together Valerinne and Mytrip. While Valerinne’s music takes an organic approach to the post-rock genre, Mytrip comes and completes the journey with sounds gravitating around ambient and drone.
